We launched Bedrock on March 27, 2018 with a letter and $127 million in assets under management. Less than six years later, Bedrock assets under management total approximately $2 billion. As of February 2023, we have more deployable financial firepower than ever before with our new flagship fund, B4. Thus, we’ve never been more committed to our search for entrepreneurs bending the narrative toward new realities by sheer force of will. Our firepower is theirs. Before founding Bedrock, Geoff was an employee at a San Francisco-based venture capital firm. Early in his tenure there, he led the first financing round in Lyft (NASDAQ: LYFT) and joined the Company’s Board of Directors. He went on to lead early investments in companies such as Nu Holdings Limited (NYSE: NU), Upstart (NASDAQ: UPST), Tilray (NASDAQ: TLRY), Leafly (NASDAQ: LFLY), Workrise, and Canva – before making the difficult decision to leave in order to build a new type of firm. Today, the Bedrock team is composed of nine unique individuals unified by our mission. Our primary shared value is radical open-mindedness; we constantly question popular narratives in search of hidden truths. We believe this is especially useful in venture investing, where capital tends to be dramatically over-allocated to startups that align with the strongest market narratives.
